Title: Newbie here ;-) after some mods etc feel free to help me
Post by: woodzrs on March 02, 2013, 07:38:52 pm
Hiya peeps , after selling my focus st , I've finally acquired a golf ;-) its a 56 plate black 5 door . In well impressed , I've had 128 cars and usually keep a car a few weeks get bored and swap it etc but the focus I kept for 14 months , was standard then got knn gen2 induction kit , Rs clutch , milltek decat then full non res system , stg 1 revo map and then facelift gloss black wheels . Loved it and turned down a few offers of people wanting it but finally the need for a golf or Audi got to much lol

And the golf is making me happy happy ;> it's got updates clutch , Ko4 turbo , updated fuel pump and injectors and a remap from Storm.

Basically I'm defo after an induction kit right away then it's going to Scc to be fitted and checked over etc . They are amazing on fords but still know their way round the mk5 .

But also after simple mods that you lot have done or are doing . Also need to know why etc will be looking for decat soon . Also need the wheels diamond cut how they should be

So , what should I be buying and where do I look for aftermarket goodies  .

Touché Scott!

To the OP,

Think of a question, then .................. use the Search function.

Lots of CAI's to choose from, look at ITG Maxogen, Forge Twintake, Evoms, REVO or the APR/VWR systems.

I wouldn't bother with a decat, get a decent sports cat (100 or 200 cell) TBE. Milltek or BCS (look at their Powervalve systems) for that.

Sort out the handling ie ARB's, the usual peeps being Eibach, H&R or Autotech. Anti lift kit from Whiteline or Superpro, along with changing out the bushes for poly ones. Engine mounts, the dogs being THS FR3 set, cheaper ones being just a lower engine insert from either Superpro or Powerflex. LSD from Quaife or Wavetrac.

Upgrade your brakes, look at the NQS BBK on here.

 :happy2:

Cool . What places sell the parts ? Or shall I say what websites are proper good tuners in the vw world . Like I said in the ford world I use SCC or occasionally jamsport. But they stock nothing really for my golf :-( the remap was from storm and my mate who's vw made (hulk2k) said they are very good with the engine mods etc
