Welcome, looks in great condition, especially the leather seats, must have been well looked after.
You also have an mfd2 and highline, both were options.
-
The interior is in mint condition like its never been sat in  just need to get the wheels refurbished as the lacquer is peeling off them :(
-
Looks great mate, I've just picked mine up, but a more door. Same problem with the wheels too.
Any plans?
-
Nice buddy you chuffed with it? I love these things such a nice car to drive  just getting the wheels sorted for now been quoted £280 for them to be done then just a nice set of coilovers
-
Sounds a good plan.
Is that in the original finish for the wheels?
Si
-
that leather looks in great condition for the year of the car! your alloys look like mine. the previous owner had damaged them. they look corroded. anyone know if these are easy to repair?
-
Pritty sure its the orignal finish on the wheel previous owner never mentioned of having them refurbed, i will let you know how easy they are to refurb and post before and after pics :) looking to have them done before the end of the month.
-
Wheels are off fo a refurb on thursday :) before and after pics will follow :)
-
Excellent, look forward to pics mate. What finish are you going for?
Si
-

another par of the car that needed attention were the front headlights, they were very corroded scratched and starting to go a bit yellow.
as you can see from the pics:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu584%2Fandy9200%2F011_zps9de19893.jpg&hash=ab115e876fbde5523be3c1b519f4b8afa47fd4f4)

to start with i really didnt know what to do about this problem as it was really bugging me as i like things to be mint ;) even resorted to looking at buying a new set of lights witch would cost in the region of £140!! after some searching online i found out that you could wet sand them and they come up like new so i went out and bought some sandpaper
1500 grit
2000 grit
2500 grit
3000 grit
then set to work on the lights starting from the lowest and working my way through to the highest here is what it looked like during sanding:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu584%2Fandy9200%2F012_zps80a2c4e3.jpg&hash=3a8981a5c972e2f15f1fe7a5f6076b70dc6805a9)
think this picture was taken after the 2500 grit at this point i was thinking WTF have i done to my pride and joy!
but with at bit of patience, time and some meguires ultimate compound and electric mop they came out like this
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu584%2Fandy9200%2F015_zps2d63cfc3.jpg&hash=5e934986f21c5ebb2dfda892c153cae642392024)
and after even more polishing and waxing
