Title: Black Pearl MK4 .:R32 *update*
Post by: S800BRN on March 03, 2013, 08:06:12 pm
So, finally got my hands on a R32.
53 plate 3 door. 48k miles, FSH. I'm the 4th owner.
Half leather, sat nav. Already has a non res Milltek including sports cats, Carbonio intake and running Revo stage 2 software.
Loving it so far. I didn't have the radio on once during the 430 miles drive home!
Couple of pics the previous owner sent:

Quick fuel stop on the way home:

Once home I moved the front badge to the correct side, put on my Porsche oil and coolant caps, also black screen wash cap.

I've bought a set of US tails, R36 coil covers and black VW emblems. Tomorrow she's into the garage for 2 new tyres first tho. Hopefully get my own plate own before long too.
Cheers for looking

That is sweet, looks a VERY clean example.  Grab a smaller aerial. :happy2:
Does it have too much coolant in?

Thanks. I did chuck on a stubby aerial but the reception was terrible. Ordered a OEM Sharan one see if that fares any better.
The coolant was on the high side. I syringed out the excess tho.

Yes, I had the option as well in my X reg GTi and that was an extremely expensive option back in 2000 - I loved the way with the xenons you get the dual indicators in the lenses

Is the rear wiper swap for the mk5 arm a straight swap? Does the washer cap need trimming much? I wanna get a mk5 rear wiper for my mk4 estate.

Lovely R BTW  :happy2:

This is a proper motor, loads of time for the G4 .:R32

I remember when a guy fired up a supercharged one at Players in Essex back in September when the judges were inspecting his car. The sound has never left me to this day...

Cheers, Peter. The noise is without a doubt my favourite thing about the car. Like I said previous - 400 odd mile drive home and didn't have the radio on once!

Update time again. Wheels got refurbed today at The Wheel Specialist in Dyce. Went for anthracite finish.
Pics make them look darker than they are in the flesh.
Planning a full day cleaning so will fire up better pics then, these were literally just after I'd got the car home.
