Title: Good iPhone deals
Post by: QD MBE on March 04, 2013, 11:01:23 am
as above, anyone have any pointers to a good iphone deal?

Want the 4S - Chunk of Mins, and texts - with data, not fussed about the 5 at all.  getting old, so the latest tech does not attract.

contemplating buying a 4S outright and continuing with my Sim only deal.

Over to you............

I know you said you didnt want a 5, but if you go via Quidco on the One Plan you will get £61.65 cashback. And the iPhone 5 is only £49 upfront cost with £36 p/m tarriff.

http://www.quidco.com/three/ - Quidco

http://www.three.co.uk/Store/Phones/iPhone/iPhone_5 - Three Website

For that you get unlimited data, 2000 minutes, 5000 texts and 5000 additional 3-2-3 minutes.

When i was looking at buying my iPhone outright the price between the 4, 4s, 5 was almost exactly £100.... Starting at £200 for the 4.  I use mine more for data and text than calls.

Just sorted an iPhone 5 through carphonewarehouse, O2 - Unlimited Mins/Texts/2Gb data (wrangled it on the phone).  £99 and £27 a month.

Via Quidco, so get 80 back!

Thanks for the help.

How long do your Quidco payments tend to take Dave?

Mine seem to take ages.  Money for nothing so cant really grumble, but if its the reason you buy the product (cause it works out cheaper than the rest with cashback) it can be annoying if the payment doesnt come

TBH I don't know Mike.

I have never tracked them.  Just know it does appear.

Forever in my experience. I've got Apple cashback spanning back over 12 months. In fact I've never actually seen any paid.

You can make a claim but Quidco can hold the funds for 6 months.  Although if you've waited that long they may transfer it quicker

I got mine on The One plan on 3.

It's virtually half what i was paying with vodapoo (who you need to be near a town centre to get 3G) and i get tethering and unlimited data all thrown in for £36 p/m. Plus once 4G comes out with them you automatically go on to the 4G network with the IP5 not pay extra :happy2:

On the one plan too. Didn't realise they will include 4G with no upgrade. Assume we will need a new sim though.

I specifically asked when i got it and the guy in the 3 Shop in Darlington assured me that with The One Plan you just automatically go on it. I don't think it's the sim i think you will just get a carrier update in iTunes to enable the 4G (i could be wrong though). The wife is going on to the same plan when i go into Darlington again tomorrow so will ask them again to confirm and if a new sim is required.  :happy2:

I'm looking into moving from Vodafone to 3 as been with them for Years and try are getting worse.

The unlimited data is what's drawing me to them and the price, then O2 works out best next except data is capped but no where near as bad as Vodafone/EE.

Do 3 have their own masts now or do they still piggy back in another network

As far as I know they have their own masts. They do use orange for 2g voice & txt if no 3G around in rural areas but even in the middle of some military trg areas I have been able to get 3G with it.

I also confirmed today that if you are on The One plan you will automatically go on to 4G when it is broadcast as long as you have a 4G LTE phone. No new sim required. They are aiming for 20-25mbps in rural areas and 40-50mbps in major cities.
