Title: Rear badge removal

I've got an early gti. The rear badge has wankworm :booty: so would like to paint it, thought I heard somewhere  that the earlier ones where differant to the new ones, mines quite flat with only a small recess to the 'behind' of the VW symbol.

Do I have to remove the whole boot handle mechanism or can the badge be prized off leaving the handle where it is!?

i removed the whole boot handle its not a big job just was a little nervous when pulling the door card off

Does anyone know how to attach the front gti badge, i cant work out how it fits???!!! :confused:

Twist anti-clockwise and give it a wiggle to get it out just be cautious ot the 3 tabs getting caught on the grill.

the later badges are different when you fit them to a 54 or 55 plate golf the badge sticks out  2mm...best removing it to get it painted
