Bought these attached to their suspension, and was in the process of disassembling.
got the caliper and pads off and hoses pretty easy but despite my best strength with 1/2" torque wrench I cant get the carrier bolts free. Used wd-40 by the bucket.
Considering getting an impact wrench , but would that solve it? ELSA says those bolts are done up to 200Nm and an impact wrench can do to 350ish?
Iv not got a breakers bar and as its attached to hub and suspension and caliper is off, disc spins free so am gonna struggle for leverage and brute force.
Suggestions appreciated :) !

Leverage is key here, can you not borrow or buy a breaker bar? They're cheap and will always come in handy.
Or find something to put over your wrench - scaff tube etc, just anything to elongate your pulling force.
Failing that, try some heat on it or flog your wrench with a hammer at its longest point and so on.

But problem is the entire assembly ( incl hub, strut, springs, wishbone and ball joint ends ) is off the car so I havent got a bench table clamp or something to counteract my force :S
If it was on the car then I could be a monkey :P !
Thats why I was considering an impact wrench as it doesnt need leverage.

Ah I missed that bit.
Can you not wedge the strut under something as you lever it?
An impact gun might work but I always find a dynamic force is better when something is seized.
You could always take it to a backstreet garage and ask them to whip the bolts out, might cost you a drink.

Nice one! Ill give that a go and see what happens :) Cheers skard!
