Title: Iphone Abroad
Post by: garrardrj on March 07, 2013, 09:22:32 am
So it appears you just have to turn off "data roaming" in the general/network part of the settings

Is this all i now have to do to stop data roaming now and getting those massive bills ?

I'm sure i did more to turn it off on our last trip , did it change with an operating system update ?

I do that but I also turn the 3G and mobile data off in the same option menu then you know it won't work :happy2:

Yep turn off data roaming,  and also as suggested the 3G and Mobile Data option to save battery.

I work overseas and can get data for £1.99 a day with o2 when travelling - it isn't as bad as it was (£3/MB).

Three charge £5 per day, but the data is unlimited. I still think it should be cheaper.

As said above, as well as disabling the data roaming, make sure you turn data off completely.
