Title: Hazards flashing?
Post by: swgti on March 08, 2013, 07:09:11 pm
This has happened a couple of times now that i know of but the hazards start flashing fo no apparent reason as though the alarm is going off but with no siren. Just been out within the space of a few mins and second time they were going, opened the car locked it again and they've stopped. Any thoughts?

Faulty locking module maybe? Needs scanning really.

This^^^

First thing, get it scanned, will probably reveal the siren has a fault.
Grab a second hand one off ebay, about £25
Here's the part number: 1K0 951 605C
Drivers wheel off, arch lining out, siren is up in the top of the arch, it is rivoted on :( so needs to be drilled out, if you do it carefully you can reattach bolts or cable ties when fitting the replacement.
Doesn't need coding in. :happy2:
