Title: Can you lock your car without the alarm activated?
Post by: Coe on March 08, 2013, 10:08:25 pm
As the title says, can you lock your car without the alarm being activated???

I'm having a wee issue with mk5 gti. The alarm has gone off for no reason and when's it's not sounding the hazards are flashing.

Thanks :)

There is a button on the b pillar to turn off the internal sensor.

Ok, so if I press that that'll be the alarm off permanently? Was aware of that button but never pressed it.

Press the lock button twice I believe it only locks then,  no alarm,  no deadlocks

IIRC the B pillar button disarms the sensor, but you need to press it each time you leave the car - it defaults back on.
Pressing the remote lock button twice deactivates the deadlocks, but has no effect on the interior motion sensor.
