Title: Need new REAR calipers, keep it standard / caddy / nqsb?
Post by: camfollower on March 09, 2013, 04:52:02 pm
I looked for the NQS BBK Rear thread but couldn't see it :ashamed:

Need your thoughts on which rears to get.  I've just bought some NQS BBK for the front, but I know that my rear calipers are shot and need replacing too.

I don't really want to spend mega on the rears, so the question is, will standard rears be ok with 986 fronts?
Is it worth upgrading the brake lines to stainless like the fronts?
Which Brake fluid do you guys use?

Sorry for all the Q's :happy2:

Standard rear calipers should be fine with the NQS BBK as most of your heavy braking is done at the front.

VW oem brake fluid is good enough for a Veryon so good enough for you.

^^^^ must remember that next time I Skye the Veyron in.  :signLOL:

I've just had fitted the NQS BBK and the rears seems ok at the moment but I will be changing them for some S3 rears or might try DaveB's lastEst thingy's, the Caddy ones. Any improvement over the Mk5 OEM can only be a bonus.

Crickey same spec fluid as the veyron is it!? :surprised: might be ok then, I'll chance it ;)

Yes the caddy ones look interesting as long as there isn't too much fabrication going on... Wasn't there a nqsbbk rears thread somewhere?

Found the thread... Why aren't we using mk6 rears? They seem to have a larger piston, would be painted red and bolt straight on!
