Bought the EVOMS kit that was for sale in the classifieds. Would anyone recommend NOT fitting this to an otherwise standard car for any reason?
This is my first petrol turbo car, all my other cars have been N/A 16v and VR6 engined, sticking an air filter/induction kit on one of those was never an issue. Only exception being a TDI i once owned for a commuting car.

I don't think you'll experience any issues with that intake on a stock car. Be prepared for a strange raking noise at mid rpm that some find unpleasant.
-
Surely it will only help the engine breath that bit better, wont it?
-
Well, obviously the benefits would be greater once the car is mapped to stage 2 and i have a TBE fitted. However, will my ECU throw a wobbly with an Intake on it in standard fettle?

....No wobbly to be expected. The ECU adapts its instructions smartly and so will automatically take the air intake into account. TBE would be your best next mod. Then remap and use that opportunity to check the data logging etc on the hardware status you've got at the time.
Slippery Slope!!!!!!

I put a Carbonio Intake on a standard ED30 and it was absolutely fine, if anything it seemed to free things up a bit :happy2:

^^^^
My sequence was Stock > TBE > Carbonio > Remap Stage1.

My sequence was Stock > TBE > Carbonio > Remap Stage1.
Same here! :happy2:

My sequence on the ED30 was, Carbonio > TBE > HPFP > Stage 2+ Map = :P :P :P GTI!

Cheers Guys. Just wanted to make sure.
TBE will have to wait until after the wedding in March.
