Title: Whats the Best way to do a full detail..
Post by: George10 on March 22, 2013, 08:21:23 pm
Hi lads..
Just wondering what the best way is to do a full detail?
And what products are most recommended..
Atm I'm doing:
Snowfoam
Rinse
2 bucket wash
Rinse
Dry
Clay
Rinse
Polish
Wax
Is this the correct way?
Cheers
George

Haha what would you call a detail?
Did you? I know a few people that use this method and it does work well..
Just seeing if there's any other ways  :happy2:

Machine polish, de-contaminate the paintwork too, get in the arches and panel gaps etc

As Joe says, I'd add a citrus pre-wash into that along with de-tar and iron/fall out removal. And then obviously onto the interior!

What's a citrus pre Wash?
Do I do the de tar once I've cleaned the car?

Clay barring the car should be sufficient to remove tar unless there is some other magical way of doing it!!  :signLOL:

Personally I'd rather use Auto Finesse Oblitarate or Tardis to melt the tar first, then clay bar.

Citrus Pre-wash.

I'd personally do the de-tar/fall out stage before washing - after the snow foam/citrus prewash and rinse.

PB is round the corner from me. The 3 for 2 has been great. Really rate AF gear. Oblitarate is brilliant. Never used Tardis but heard that's great too.

As for products - auto finesse are rated highly and are affordable. As are Meguiars, Poorboys and Autoglym. Polished Bliss also have lots of reviews and videos that will help you decide. If you are wanting to find out more, head to Detailing World....just have your wallet fully stocked!!!

AF are actually not very far at all from me at all.....but cheaper to get the 3 for 2 offer and get it shipped from Scotland!! I bought a 5L of citrus power, 500ml obliterate and 500ml iron out. Summer when it arrives will be awesome.

Bought that auto finesse citrus pre wash, clay balm, ultra soft wash mitt and meguiars tyre gel. Used the citrus pre was today and it's brilliant stuff.
Gonna get the auto finesse illusion wax, polish ect when I've got a bit more money kicking around.

What does a glaze do and when do you do It?
