Title: changed it just in time ...........

Been following a couple of threads this Week about cam followers which spurred me on to change mine. Caught it in the nick of time, another few thousand miles it would have been wrecked. 55 plate gti with 94k miles
One photo shows a straight edge on top of the follower, its hollowed about 1mm and the case hardening is non existant.

This has convinced me to get on to doing this ASAP.

I am on 102K and having driven the car from new and half of those 102k miles with a stage 1 remap I am sure mine is close to the end of its life!

Yes it was a close one !
Just hope the cam is ok, the lobe wasn't visible  but there was marks on it but no scoring from what i could see
