Title: New head unit

Hi peeps. I'm after a new double din head unit as my RCD300 is to basic. I would like something that will look OEM but has alot of features. Don't want to spend over £300 though as I'm on a tight budget now     :confused:

Any suggestions?

Go for a RCD510 nice touch screen, internal 6 CD changer and a SD card slot. Or go for a RNS 510 if you need at nav. Not hard to fit either.

Can't afford an RNS mate. What features the RCD510 got & how much are they going for & what is the canbus gateway/battery drain issue all about? I'm a newbie noob, so need all the help I can get

I got an 2012 rcd510DAB out of a new car that got upgraded to rhs510, from turbo herbie on ebay for about £220 delivered.
the sd card works really well.
if your car is 2008 onwards you will be ok with battery drain, i think your can gateway needs to be revK or above on pre 2007 cars.
some guys on vwvortex.com have taken a switched feed across from fuse box, looks a bit messy.....
