Title: Error message: STOP, Check coolant??

On 2 separate occasions upon starting my 06 TDI from cold, this error message comes up? The coolant level is fine and if you restart the car the error message doesn't reappear, any thoughts?

Replace the coolant tank/sensor  :happy2:

I have had exactly this happen on my 06 GTI before but the car was ice cold and was full of coolant.  Can can anyone advise par tnumber, location of, pricing and a guide for replacing this sensor?

I have exactly the same issue, it's the sensor in the coolant header tank. Unfortunately you have to replace the whole header tank at a cost of £20, the good news is it takes very little time to fit.

Bought the replacement a couple of weeks ago, just need to get round to fitting it!

been having this on my TDI too...glad to know i'm not on my own!
