Title: Measuring resistance
Post by: Meallbhan on March 30, 2013, 01:07:20 pm
Does anyone know what the resistance value should be on the coolant temp sensor when taken out the car? Part no 06A919501A.

If no one knows this, is there anywhere someone could suggest where I can look that may help me find out?

I don't matey... however if it's of any help, it's a very cheap part that can be replaced for about a fiver.

Thanks mate, yeah its a cheap part but nearer 20 quid which is still ok. I just replaced the one above the gearbox and I have the same problem, the thermostat has also been done which only leaves the 2nd sensor to check (which I can't find). This leads me to believe the 1st sensor still works and the 2nd is dodgey. But they could also both be dodgey. I just want to see if I can test the 1st one before buying another.

I hear you mate, fault chasing is a bitch... can you scan the car, it may nail down the issue for you.
Good luck mate! :happy2:

I had the car scanned and is showing no fault codes just now, typical eh.
