Title: Quick Wiring Help?

I'm putting a DVD player in to the rear (for little ones) I just need someone to advise me......

Unit has.......

Red wire
Black wire
Yellow wire

I want to connect this to the 12v ciggy lighter in the rear, it does not matter about having a perm live feed. I tried connecting this earlier and popped a fuse. Am I right putting the red to 12 ciggy lighter and grounding the black?

The wiring is as follows on those:

Red - 12V+ Switched
Yellow - 12V+ Constant
Black - Chassis ground

What rating is the fuse you blew? IF you are drawing too much current quickly, it will pop low rated fuses. Perhaps run a wire from the the fuse box. Either that or the unit might be faulty.
