I left my car in the Leeds/bradford Britannia airport hotel car park on wednesday night before we went to poland for a little break, and today I have arrived back to find my car left in this state:

and last but not least they have done the same to this poor bugger that was parked behind me!

the police have been out and cant find blood or prints and are very doubtfull they will catch anyone for the crime!
Im honestly so disheartened and lost for words. :ashamed:
-
If anyone gets offered a version B RNS please let me know I would love to know who did this and make them feel violated like they have me.
-
FFS :fighting: :fighting: Hate this sh*t. I'd keep checking ebay for the pricks. Sorry bud. :sad1:
-
sh*t news
-
f*cking thieving twats sorry to see this. Was the car park supposed to be secure with cameras
-
I am mate I will even drive to view one if it look like mine, it's distinctive the right track button is stiff, also if anyone recognises the golf R please put me in touch as I could do with talking to him.

:ashamed:

f*cking thieving twats sorry to see this. Was the car park supposed to be secure with cameras
yep apparently we were parked in black spots :( the copper said this is the 6th vw sat nav case in the last 2 weeks in the west yorkshire area so some bagheads have realised how much RNS's are worth.
-
Damn, fcuking cnuts must have had a field day, make's me sick to the core, worst thing is the car never feel's the same after someone break's into it and causes so much damage. :fighting:
-

-
what goes around comes around!!!
-
gutted for you mate, we carnt seem to have Bugga all these days without worrying about it, we had 1k of diesel pinched from our trucks last week so having to make trips at silly hours to make sure things are ok. it's a joke you work hard for the things you get and always some scum to take it from you :-(
-
I'm surprised VW can't add some remote lock function that permanently disables them. At least then people might be put of stealing them. My local VW dealer has to remove them all from the cars on their forecourt.
A few weeks ago I was followed into a car park by someone and asked if I had one. I said that I didn't and then he said he could get me one if I wanted!
-
A lot of this is happening in Bradford, 6 in total were done on vw bradfords sales pitch and Mazda Bradford sales pitch a few months ago, and there's a lot of cameras on the sales pitches so the tw@s don't care if there seen, what other distinctive things are they about your unit? ill keep an ear to the ground for you.
-
I f*cking hate stuff like this! makes me sick!
-
Just seeing the pics brought back the feelings of mine being done last year so I know exactly how you feel. The little sh*ts need their hands cutting off :fighting: I'm very surprised this has happened in an airport car park which should be secure
Mine got done was i was out for lunch, was only in the restaurant for an hour (12 til1pm). My RNS didn't get nicked, only lost an old gen iPod nano from the the armrest and my house keys (so paid for all locks to be replaced), but I had drivers window scratched, drivers a pillar dented by a brick passenger window smashed and leather scuff along with steering wheel where the brick hit and steering column. I was parked out the way to prevent doors hitting my car etc and i was under 2 security cameras but they wasn't rewired in the upgrade and where dummies, the manager told me this and so did the police and said the criminals knew the blackspots in the the area quite well as the local leisure centre gets done regularly :fighting:
I got it all fixed and the leather couldn't be fixed so got new leather seat covers but total repair come to over £2500, luckily I had protected NCD.
I hope you get it sorted soon, I'm just even more of a pain trying to find a decent parking space after this has happened and paranoid especially as the other halfs car got broken into the other week
-
I thought the days of car radios being nicked were long gone.
As said earlier, they've obviously realised there's a market for the RNS510, and presumably similar spec sat nav systems in other makes.
-
Gutted for you. I know the feeling. Scumbags just seem to get away with it even if they are caught.
-
That's why I tinted my front windows. It's would be a b*tch to smash them now.
-
barstewardss, I am coming home today and would hate to see this
-
This is awful :sad1:
-
Sorry to see this fella !
This is great so I assuming that these toe rags can get pass the security number for the RNS ?
-
really feel for you mate. proper scum
-
This is great so I amusing that these toe rags can get pass the security number for the RNS ?
Nothing funny about it!
-
Scum of the earth
-
a sad sight
I know they have had a lot of problems in Holland with thefts of these units, so much that VW have come up with the Navi Lock
Code can easily be changed with several tools that are available. Some people will still buy the units without the code as long as it is cheap.
might be an idea for anyone fitting an RNS to their car to write their Postcode or mark the unit so it is identifiable if listed on ebay or forums
-
Feel sorry for you to come back to this, there are some scum around, its awful that sickening feeling as you walk up to you're car  .. Come judgement day
Can't believe the mess they made. I had a VW done years ago, they smashed the window but didn't take the unit as I had the removable front in my pocket. It was just a pain in the arse getting rid of all the glass in the door at least.
-
Shame that Nav lock cant be retrofitted I work in Leed bradford airport and have to go that hotel regularly for business meetings!!! Sickening!

Mate ... I think all our hearts go out to you. A car park ding is bad enough but that is just awful.
I hope you manage to get it sorted. I know that's not the point, but it might help.
These 'people' do not realise the harm and hurt they are causing for the sake of a few quid on the black market.
I can't find words for the barstewardss.
-
Scum.. :fighting: Hope you get it sorted buddy.
-
Absolute arseholes......they will get their just deserves.
-
Wa*kers!
Really sorry for you. Hope you get it all sorted, don't let the fu*kers get you down.
-
No CCTV?
I hope they suffer consequences that i cannot put on here.
-
I thought the days of car radios being nicked were long gone.
As said earlier, they've obviously realised there's a market for the RNS510, and presumably similar spec sat nav systems in other makes.
I thought the days of stealing stereos was gone too, so this makes for depressing reading. My sympathies to the OP. :sad1:
That said, I doubt the black market is so hot for my RCD300... even I wouldn't buy it back.
Rich.

Feel for u mate but rest assured what go's around comes back around.
-
SCUM. :fighting:
-
What makes it worse it not the fact you have lost the RNS but all the damage they have done to take it. I cant believe the car park wasn't "secure" its an absolute joke.
-
Feel for you mate. Sorry this has happended. Can't believe the car park has blackspots with no cameras etc.
Gutted when I saw the pics
The person/people responsible are w@&kers.

Jeez,
Sorry to read this - proper mess they've made of your car. Were the alarms going off on yours and the R?
Absolutely identical break in method - pretty brutal way to just break the glass.
Stealing b'stards - hope they choke on their ill gotten gains!
Hope your insurers sort it quickly for you...

MY bad iphone error was meant to type "assuming"
-
Sorry about this mate its really annoying to see.
They have smashed the window in that place by jamming a screw driver in as its make an almost silent smash, alarm probably went bonkers though?
In summer last year, I got out of bed and walked down stairs to find muddy foot prints everywhere and it looked like a scene from Paranormal Activity as everything was open.
Not one thing was stolen, they were looking for cars keys but fortunately I take them to bed with me.
-
Least uv got ur car my transit st got towed away and chopped up when I was on holiday, bought the ed30 then police called to say they busted the place so went to the garage where they took the stuff to, was packed to gunnels with transit parts and vw golf parts including 4 standard vw hu stacked up :fighting:
-
ouch. sorry to hear :-(
-
Thanks for the replies guys, after contacting my insurance it looks like im going to be footing the bill myself as I would loose my no claims and my insurance would be through the roof next year, iv'e managed to get the bits for the door for 180 quid from tps through my mate in the trade and im hoping to pick an RNS up for around 700 quid not going to be much change out of a grand by the time im done, I have spoken to a solicitor today and he thinks even with the hotels disclaimers I may have some chance of recouping the damages from them.
-
Im pretty sure you should be able to get an RNS510 for about 450-500 quid.
-
:fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:
Not very nice, it seems to be happening more often now... Which is never a good thing...
Hope you get it all sorted and back to normal soon matey. :happy2:
-
Disgusting :fighting: , what a bloody mess they have made of your car. I suppose the idea of going out to work and getting money honestly must be a thing of the past for some people , I swear the only thing we are good at in this country now is breeding scum.
-
Bar Stewards!
-
This seems to be turning in to an epidemic :surprised:
I not based up noooorth but I think I need to get one of those fake RCD covers made up for my kenwood unit asap.
-
Bunch of f*cking tossers they are all our hard earned money....... sorry for your pain mate we shall find these kinda people and give them some real pain :fighting: :fighting:
-
That's so bad, seems to be a common thing again now.
Out of interest who parked the car there? I know some airport car parks park for you. 2 cars with nav units both parked an the same black spot in the corner of the car park seems coincidental to me
-

I fully understand your reasons for paying yourself so that you don't loose your no claims bonus but you might still end up paying more for your insurance next year as most insurers also record number of losses. Because you have told them the car has been broken into there is a strong chance they will have recorded this on your record. They will then take this loss into account when calculating your renewal premium. I know there is nothing you can do about it now but for anybody else reading this you should NEVER speak to your insurer about a loss unless you are certain you will definitely make a claim (although I'm sure it will say somewhere in the small print that you must tell them of all losses irrespective of whether you claim or not).
-
^^^
Yeah but can you report to the police and still not tell your insurance company?
I have had a minor incident before when someone sideswiped my rear offside arch and ended up dealing out of insurance so didn't need to let them know.
-

Yeah but can you report to the police and still not tell your insurance company?
It's exactly what my work colleague did last week, reported to police but didn't contact insurer afterwards. He's in a similar financial decision situation to the OP as his Beetle was broken into to nick the spare wheel (hoping to find the locking wheel nut to take the alloys too). Luckily for him the locking wheel nut wasn't in the car! Apparently thefts of Beetle alloys are common in Manchester at the moment.
As I said previously, I'm sure you are supposed to report everything to your insurers, just be aware that they'll increase your future premiums if you do.

Yeah did read that in my contract. But as you said best not to even tell them for minor stuff you are planning on fixing yourself due to increased premiums even if you don't claim.
I find the insurance industry is such a money grabbing con!

what scum :fighting:
