So, I'm in the market for a new car in about 5-6 months.. I'm a bit of a petrol head and fancy a GTI.. I'll have about 7 grand.. I'm sure you might stumble across a post from me asking for advice on serial numbers or a DSG box! I want to buy right first time! cheers

Petrol heads choice is the k04 edition 30, but you'll need at least 9k for one of those. They can make around 300bhp stage 1, opposed to the standard GTI k03 240bhp... Happy hunting mate, loads of decent info here :happy2:

I've seen ko3 & 4 before.. What do all the ok numbers mean? Yeh, I'd like an edition 30 but they are a bit more sought after.. What's the main difference? I believe they have a bigger turbo?

Engine wise it's a bigger turbo.

I have a gti with a ko4 conversion.

Ko3 and ko4 are the codes on the turbo.

Im also from Preston!

Ahhh well I know where to go to do my mods ;) haha.. Is it just simply bigger internals or is it a whole new housing and manifold? Or does it go further? Aesthetically I can see the difference on photos and stuff so that doesn't really need questioning. I don't think my budget will stretch to a E.30 anyway.. Also, what's a highline dash?
