Title: Mk5 whistle sound
Post by: teirelleil on April 03, 2013, 04:48:03 pm
I have a whistling sound in my mk5 dsg 2008. Once you press on the gas the sound goes but once your leg in of the gas or at idle a whistling sound shows. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It's either Roger Whittaker or your diverter valve. Check to see if Roger has surreptitiously slipped into the boot...

I just changed the Pcv right now, the sound went for a while but now it's back and even louder. I got it on video but I'm having a hard time uploading it. Sorry for that but I'm still an amateur here. The mechanic said that it might be a problem in the transmission. Is that possible? Cuz I believe that all the problem is because of pressure. Once I open the oil cap the whistle goes.
