I'm buying a VRS Wagon for work and fun, but should I go for the MK2 pre-facelift that looks like Adolf with 60K for 6-7K or put in another 3K to get the Dame Edna Everage Facelift but with a higher mileage (probably 80K).
Neither are gonna win any beauty pageants, but the boot is massive and they're ripe for the slippery slope I was going to go down in my Golf. Good motors. :happy2:

Out of interest how much is the equivalent Avant?

Pre is TFSI tech so well understood.
Post is TSI which with just a Stage 1 Revo will surprise you.
Change the front by colour-coding the chrome grille surround in either case. :happy2:
High mileage TSI's have been known to suffer from cam chain follower problems which equates to a lunched engine. :scared:

Is yours the Facelift Eddie? 'Cause that's NIICE.
The vRS Wagons are often overlooked, I would guess because of the badge.. while yes perhaps not as desirable as the Audi equivalent, it's the same car and equally as nice, and to be honest more exclusive!

Keep the golf... :-)

I prefer the Pre Facelift front , I dont know what differences are inside though.

thanks jamie, yes my one is the facelift

Facemilf has a much nicer interior, just like a golf :P
Only a very few TSI's have had the tensioner thing fail and all of the ones in warranty got new engines thanks to skoda - my 2010 car was out of warranty but they still forked out for the lions share of the cost.
My old car is up on autotrader right now (not me selling) at 9 and a bit.

It's not mentioned in the ad but it had a brand spanking new engine at 75k miles, recent discs and pads, last service in december and very few miles since. It still has the TTS shifter and S-line gear knob fitted and weitec coilovers - never got around to pulling them off..
The ad also fails to mention that it has just about all the available factory options bar nav and sunroof... muppets.

IMHO the facelift car responds well to some simple tweaks, ride height, wheels etc. Just took you a quick pic of mine..:
