If I unplugged the black seat occupancy plug under the chair, will it cause any problems? This 'bing bing bing' every single time is really annoying, especially as I always wear my seat belt.

-
The seat belt chime can be coded out with VCDS.

I know that, but I don't have any friends that live close by with it... Unplugging the plug would be quicker
-
I'm pretty sure you can unplug it and it will not chime, but as long as you don't disconnect the airbag you shouldn't get any warning lights.

-
^ right pain in the neck isn't it... I literally only have to look at my unoccupied passenger seat and it sets it off! nightmare as ive always placed my gym back on it!

-
If you unplug the occupancy sensor, would the airbag still go off if in an accident?

One of the reasons I was asking. Haha
-
No it wouldnt, its not just a occupancy sensor the airbag relays and what not are there too.

Buy a seat belt plug jobby of ebay..?
-
There are several plugs, one is the warning for the seatbelt being plugged in, one is a sensor for the weight and one is obviously the air bag.. Although I do not know if you unplug them, whether it would or would not go off.
I would have to assume it would.. but yes, VCDS is the best way.

I have the same issue, only 2 looms under my chair though, a 2 wire and a 3 wire - which I'm fairly sure is the airbag? What was your solution?

-
3 wire yellow is airbag,  2 wire black is seat occupancy sensor.   Best way is to code it out using vcds

-
Cheers, I don't have VAGCOM or know anyone in my area with it, I'm going to try to unplug the 2 wire loom and see if
That solves it, I'll post my results tomoz

				Where about are you Rasco?

-
				Beautiful West Sussex dude.

-
Shame, too far from me mate. I've got VCDS and could have helped ya out. I'm up in North Yorkshire

Have you checked the vcds register link to see if any member is in your area?
-
No I don't know how / unaware of said register, it's my first day :sad1:

				Whereabouts in Sussex are you?
Are you near the Hampshire border?
-
Not too far, I'm near Chichester. Andy thanks for the link I'll take a look

-
This got sorted ages ago, but thanks though.

-
I need to do this, mine goes off if you have a bottle of milk on the seat!

-
Nice and easy what i use  :signLOL: i wouldn't disconnect any cables

-
My issue isn't just the alarm going off when the set has something on it, that's obvious. it's an intermittent alarm chime for no reason, hence the more detailed responses.

-
I had mine coded out by a friend, so maybe if you can find someone to do it for you. They can also get the US DRL and Foglight on coded in. :)

The foglights are on when the headlights are not and the handbrake is off.

Also, if you're a noob, check this thread (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,63726.0.html) out.
