In her haist to get out of the rain, the bird im seeing casually launched my passenger door open onto her car causing her wing mirror to dent my door just above the door handle! to say im livid would be extremely far from how i feel bout it! my car is now damaged, which as anyone who's had anything happen to theirs will attest to its negative effect on one's mental well being!
i may well chop her as a result of this! lol
i tried taking a pic but it doesn't turn out too well. its not too big, but now iv noticed it i cant stop seeing it.
i know my description is fairly vague but does anyone know if that sort of thing is easily repairable and how much it might cost me?!
-
Sorry to hear that. Obviously she has to go. How could she be so inconsiderate?
Pics would help determine. Is the paint cracked at all? If its not too severe, and the dent is fairly rounded, then a smart repair technician might be able to work the dent out with his bars.
-
Sounds like it would be an easy job for a decent dent removal specialist :happy2:
Oh, and I think the GF owes you some of this :booty:
:signLOL:
-
Might be worth contacting these http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/
As long as the paint isn't cracked it should be an easy fix. I have a very fine dint in my drivers door which annoys the sh*t out of me. I work at a supermarket and its a ball ache for parking.
-
As it long as it's not on the edge, they should be able to pull it out using the suction thingy, the freezing thingy, or, if all else fails, a nice gentle knock.
As for the girl, ditch her.
/harsh but fair
-
If you're in the NW then you could try http://www.whatdent.co.uk/index.html
-
Oh BTW, shouldn't have to pay more than £60 for a dent removal!
-
Cheers! ill make some enquiries!
lol yeh she's gotta go, cant expect to dent my car n get away with it!
I'll try n take another pic tomorrow when the light is better! the paint doesnt seem to be cracked although there may be a slight chip! ill be back with more info tomorrow!

I s'pose if she's bangin' (and I mean, really, really bangin) and she'll give you whatever you please then you could keep her on.

From what you have described it may be able to be pulled - whats the diameter of the ding?
-
Just add insult to injury....if it's above the handle it will more than likely be a new skin and new bump strip as it's difficult so I was told to remove dents from this part of the door, not a cheap repair once the paint and labour have been added into the equation.
Hopefully as the others have stated it may pull out.

I know how it feels. They do not pay attention because it is not their cars. But touch their jewelry in a "bad way", and they go ballistic... :stupid: I always tell my GF to be careful with the passenger door, not to slam it and such. I am turning into a nag, but I don't care, that's my car we are talking about here, and if something happens I'll have to repair it.
-
I had exactly the same dent/bump/crease on my drivers door; it was right on the edge a bit lower than the handle. I got 'Mr Dent' to come out and he worked miracles with it. It couldn't be pulled out so he manipulated with soft hammers and long soft dint-removing-thingies.
Brilliant.
One of the dent companies will be able to sort it for you.
As for the lady friend...depends how sorry she is.....and how long for...?
Good luck on both fronts bud :happy2:
-
Good excuse to throw your sausage up her no entry when she least expect's it :booty:
-
First off Strat slap yourself in the face for even considering this woman as a girlfriend part time or not.
That is serious bad judgement on your part. Honestly you need to review your selection policy. :rolleye:
Secondly we want a recorded phone message hosted on here of you dumping her with a clear explanation of why, making it clear that she is not aloud in a Golf ever again. :rolleye:
And thirdly. Pesky how do you touch there jewelry in a bad way. :signLOL:
But touch their jewelry in a "bad way", and they go ballistic...

I know how you feel man, first day I got my S3 my ex-girlfriend was getting in with her heels on, she decided to put her heel on the nice shiny S3 door strip on the sill of the car making a mahoosive dent in it, BEATCH!! :fighting: :fighting:
-
The dent repair guys work some magic, actually with mirrors and rods ... not smoke and mirrors. If your in or near Glasgow I have the contact details of a bloke who does homers...brilliant. Only needed him once for couple of repairs on a crappy A6 but they were first class.

how the hell did she manage to step on the sill
how tall is she? :chicken:

I have no idea mate!
She was tall but not tall enough to warrant doing that! :fighting:

women dont show the same care with cars, the mrs came home last night with the rims mashed and the bumper hanging off the eos :fighting:
with my car she's knows the rules, her own and she's a nightmare
-
hahaha TC, tis true she should know the importance of my car! be nice if she offered to pay for it, though theres more chance of sprouting a third arm than that happening!

why do birds have an inability to appreciate the gravitas of the situation! VC surely when she came home she knew she was in the dog house after that! theres simply a lack of thought process regarding their actions and the consequences! if you swing a door open with such force, its likely to hit something!
here are a couple of pics! you guys still think its repairable without being ridiculously expensive?!

Yep easily repairable by Dentmaster etc! :happy2:
-
That's an easy pull.
...but don't let her know that.
...and make her suffer.
/twisted

....
Crikey! If you would actually dump a GF over such a thing, then not only does she obviously not mean much to you anyway, but she'll doubtless be thinking she'll be better off without you. You can imagine what she'll be telling her friends about you and what they'll be thinking: An immature boy who values his car more than his missus.
What's perhaps more important is what her attitude was after she'd done it and how that attitude reflects on her general caring and consideration for others.
It's just wear and tear - These things happen and it could have been anyone in a car park.

Dont listen to this.
Take her out, and mak eher pay for everything.
Then dump her.
She deserves it.
-
Just take a sh*t in her newest/or favourite handbag, she will know how you feel then.
-

with my girlfriend, just touching her jewelry is a "bad way".
She does not have much jewelry, but I just bought her nice earrings, and I also bought her a ring in January. She looks at these every day. :pomppomp: She is with her jewelry, as the saying goes in Russian "like chicken with an egg".
But I do not mind, it is cute. I am the same way with my car.

I hope that is why she is your EX! Inexcusable this level of disrespect for a new expensive and NOT HER ride! :surprised:

my GF killed my laptop and a business calculator with a glass of wine. I did not say anything.
-
One GF took the paint off the edge of the door on one of my old cars, even after I warned her to watch the wall! I was not amused, but she let me earn my brown wings after she saw the bill! :happy2:
Luckily the current GF knows how sacred this car is, she's insured on it but she still refuses to drive it!
Yeah thats an easy dent man fix, don't call chips away as they'll fill it. If you're near Northampton or Bedford, I know a great dent man with great rates!

An eye for an eye i say, sit and snap off the offending wing mirror so future events wont happen, or make sure you have a Jagged middle finger nail next time you get all loved up . She wont hurt your metal again.
Hope this information will be useful
-
haha cheers Phil, very useful, i shall implement this at the earliest opportunity! :happy2:

shes not actually my GF, im seeing her, so no she doesn't mean that much to me! therefore currently, my car is very much more valuable than her! it was highly avoidable wear and tear which need never have happened, plus she'll be very much worse off without me!
why not just join in the general bant regarding the situation like everyone else, maybe offer a similar story n at least just have a laugh?! why write such a reply as if i somehow offended you! i prob won't actually chop her coz of that, but saying it adds to joire de vivre of the thread!
lighten up a bit! :drinking:
-
Haha,
I would be livid.. but i agree with Robin... :happy2:
Even so.. yes, lets lighten up and have a laff and joke about it haha... Dump the biatch !!! lol

You should start a forum poll to decide her fate

Robin's right with respect to she would probably think you're a bit of a wierdo chopping her for putting a dent in your car, howeverrrrrrr........... there is quite obviously no respect for other peoples' possessions on her part. If a girl did that in my car I think I'd give her the womb hammer to be honest.
No excuse whatsoever. Furthermore, was there an offer from her to pay for the damage........no! That is an utter disgrace!
Wear and tear does not make any difference really because this was a completely avoidable accident.
Hard luck Paul, if you want me to direct you to the bodyshop that I use the just shout! As the others have said, a dent repair person would be able to get it out no problems at a cost of around £50.
