I am about to buy some lowering springs for my 08 GTI dsg and was wondering what people have gone for between the two in the title... I am purely after the cosmetic look and think the minus 20mm GTI is as low as i want to go, I don't want them to be to firm and ruin the ride so what are peoples thoughts on the two makes and which one's give the best ride quality. Any input would be appreciated.

I have the H&R's on mine and like them. Nice drop and not crashy.

Are they much firmer than std... I find mine is firm enough to be honest and really don't want it like a skate board... to old for all that jarring and teeth rattling now  really needs to be lowered though...

It is noticeably firmer than standard yes. But like I say, its not crashy so doesn't shatter yout spine. Like you I wanted to go lower but didn't want it too hard. I would say these are a nice compromise.
Also coupled with the Superpro ALK and a Whiteline rear ARB it has greatly improved the handling.

Both are good springs
I went with Eibach personally, but I wanted more lows so changed to coilovers.

I've got h&r 25-30mm springs. And to be honest I can't feel the difference between stock and the h&r

Thanks for the input guy's
After a bit of a mooch about on the tinterweb it does seem the general consensus is that the H+R springs are the better ride.... typical as i have found a set of new sportline's at the right money.... decisions decisions...

If it's any help, my Mum who is disabled says my car with the Sportlines was more comfortable than her 2004 Rav 4.
-
Will follow this thread as I've got the same dilemma. Want comfort plus lowered look. I've got 19s so it's pretty firm as it is!

I just put on Sportlines and prefer them to the H&R's, but that's probably down to having better dampers now. I'd say either way you'll be happy.

Can I have a drive in a car with sportline's and one with H+R's please  Cant be doing with that ruddy great gap... they have to go.
Think i'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy one or the other.... I suppose it's not the end of the world if I find them to firm as they are not to bad to change as my m8 has a garage with a 2 post lift.... plus he can fit them if i ask nicely

Can anyone confirm that H&R 29526-1 spring kit is the one for my 08 GTI dsg... seems like a cracking price.
"EDIT" Wrong year ....

Just for info mine are the 29176-1's. Not sure if those are the same for DSG models though.
