Hi, just picked up the GTI a few days ago and already trawling my way through the archives on here picking up some great information.
Ive had various Golfs previously Mk3 TDi, Mk5 2.0 FSI and TDi and have just come back to the fold having been bored to tears with a BMW 320 :scared:
Spent almost two months finding the right car and finaly settled on this one, its a 2006, FSH with a service stamp from 'Awesome GTI' every 5k miles which was great to see. 68k miles and absolutely pristine inside and out, obvioulsy seena lot of love and care so a credit to the last owner. Its standard with the exception of a Miltek stainless steel exhaust system, 6 disc changer, ipod dock and K&N air filter.

Just one thing, there seems to be a slight knocking noise on tickover, dissapears as soon as the revs come up... I seem to remember my old 2.0 FSI was similar and it dissapeared when you put the air con on (thus increasing tickover revs). It doesnt dissapear on this... is that fiarly usual for the TFSI?
Cheers, Mat

I would check the cam follower also :drinking:

Welcome! Car looks great, and sounds as though it has been cherished by its previous owner. It's in the best colour too (IMHO)!
Sorry - can't help you on the knocking noise. Coming from a mkiv 1.8t, I've been surprised how noisy the 2.0t is on idle!
