Hi Guys
I have bought a RCD300 head unit to replace the worn button look of my unit, the Ebay seller said it did not require a code but when I fitted it today it does require a code.
Where would be the best place to get code for a decent price?
the head unit is Visteon & the long bar code number is VWZ7Z2G0009735. 1KO 035 186 T
Any help would be great as my dashboard is in bits.
Thanx Rob

You can get the code for free from vw. Give your local dealer and call and ask them what you require, i think you need proof of purchase ect.

I would get in contact with the seller and ask he provide a code or you'll demand a refund.
The unit won't need a code when installed in it's factory "original" car but will need one if installed in any other vehicle.

Will get in touch with seller, but he is not answering any of my questions, he did say he had the manual for it but never posted it with radio, don't know if it would have code though???

The code is supplied from VW on a credit size card and it's stored in the front of the car's users manual documentation.

I am not getting an answer from seller is there a decent online service I can use, as I could do with just getting this sorted quickly if its at all possible without the code card??

You have to take the radio serial number to VW and you'll need your VIN as well.

Hi guys
Got it sorted for a tenner via a lad called frank off eBay.
Didn't want to go to dealers as it wasn't the original head unit with the car.
