Ive just booked the train for a day trip to France! Going with a mate and the girlfriends!
We are there for the whole day, planning on visiting one of the main hypermarkets and a couple of places for beer etc but can anyone recommend anywhere to visit or things to do?
Thanks in advance!

Is stuff still cheap in France like beer Fags and wine ?
Its not duty free anymore so just wondering ?? :innocent:
-
Cite Europe (right by the Euro tunnel), it's great for shopping :happy2:
-
probably not that cheap now
been a few years since I went there
several well known outlets sell booze in Calais.
I always went to Auchan
for those that want fags, a trek to the Belgian / French border
-
St Malo is not a bad drive :happy2:
-
Reims circuit is a defo, about 2 hours from Calais, mad place. If not Ypres in the Somme

Were all non smokers but im sure we will be stocking up on booze... how much can a GTI boot hold haha!

Amiens is a nice place for a day. The coast isn't brilliant until you hit the Cherbourg peninsula.

Always found it cheaper the further inland you go, my mates picked up some merlot at 1.5 euro a bottle and said it tasted the same as a bottle from sainsburys costing £7, don't drink the stuff myself tho.

As mentioned, Cite d'Europe is worth a visit. It's an outlet place with a large Carrefour hypermarket perfect for cheap wine etc. It's a few years since I went but there was also an Oakley outlet if you're after some new shades.
I had a camping holiday in France last September and the intention was to visit Cite d'Europe before catching the ferry back but we didn't leave enough time :ashamed:
We're going back this year but not getting a Calais ferry this time so won't be able to go, but intend on stocking up at another hypermarket :popcornsoda:
