Title: 18x8.0 ET45 how would these go
Post by: vag12 on April 11, 2013, 04:21:22 pm
Right so I plan to come from 19"s down to 18"s because of alot of problems such as rubbing handling weight comfort etc,
So the wheels I have found comes as on the title, I want to put 235 40 18 up front and 245 40 18 on the rear, wanted to know is anyone running a similar setup and get any issues with rubbing?
Btw I have eibach sport lines on

To be honest am fine with 225 up front but want wide looking tyres on the rear, sure it would help with the handling too

Wide tyres wont do much on 8j wheels. Go 9j on the rear

iv had issues with 8.5 and 235 on rear no way a 9 would help

Fit a 225 dude, 245 is just odd on a Mk5. Plus rubbing depends on how low you are going to want to run which you haven't said.

You might get away with a 245 but as I said it's a weird size for the back of a Mk5. If it rubs you should be able to increase the camber slightly to negate the problem.

My set-up is 18x8-et45 with 225/40's and it sits at 23-7/8 in front and 24-3/8 in back. No rubz yet...

That drop looks brilliant... Is that just springs and a different offset? :surprised:

Springs, cut off 1.25 coils from the front-lower end only, and 45 offset.
