For me, there aren't any cars sub £15k that I'd sell my Edition 30 for. But, there are a few £20k cars I would, my list woud be:
Audi S3 (8P2 Shape) S-Tronic
Focus RS MK2
BMW 135i Coupe
Evo 8/9 (Well specced and low mileage for £15k, then use the remaining £5k for a daily and to sub high maintenance costs)
Golf R (Would be a wait until prices drop to £20k)

from this list above...Golf R or S3
-
Not from the list above....Audi RS4. :happy2:
-
m5 all day long! V10 lambo engine 5 doors and a large boot,
-
Audi B8 S4. :happy2:
Stick a REVO Stage1 map and a Milltek TBE on it and you've got a 410bhp RS4 eating (well, nearly) monster.

Lamborghini engine? Not in an m5, lots of amazing cars for sub 20k but running them is a different matter :signLOL:
-
Not a Lamborghini engine your thinking of the audi S5 limited edition the M5 Defo amazing but I would buy an E90 M3
-
Yeah, certainly none from your list, but an E92 M3 would be high on the list. At around £15k I'd be tempted by a Porsche Cayman S and the BMW Z4 M Coupe.
The problem with most VAG stuff is that the advancement is so slow, nothing does much to persuade me out of a MK5 which is a very accomplished car.

Audi s8 also comes with said Lamborghini v10 which my mate has.. Sounds awesome.
-
Some interesting options listed. Personally I like small turbo charged engines compared to V8s, I just like the surge of torque. Also, off boost, they are usually cheaper to run and maintain.
There's a following on here for the Golf R, but personally I'd choose the 8P2 S3. Better presented car with the same mechanics.

I don't know why you think it is better presented. The exterior is as dull as ditch water and the interior in the R is better. The R also drives better according to those who have driven/owned both.

It's not a Lambo engine but a derivative of said Lambo engine. The Lambo one was 5.0l and the Audi 5.2l,

20k ! I'd probably buy have a new shape X5 3.0 diesel and a mk 2 golf GTI, either that or I'd have an audi rs4
I've had a mk2 focus rs aswell and that was a lovely car
-
Do what I did & buy an E39 M5, 5litre V8, 400 bhp & 370lbs/ft. Spend the other 14K on supercharging it :driver:
Although an E92 M3 saloon would be mighty tempting

Golf R

Skyline R33 or 34 :happy2:

Would have to be an R33 GTR for me. £20k won't get you an R34 GTR unfortunately, just a GTT.

I've been here, this is what I did:
135i coupe with the super strong auto box (value around £16k for an 'ok' spec car these days)
Down pipes £300
Intakes £80
Stage 3 map £700
Methanol kit £500
Proper brake pads £400
B12 suspension £500
Quaife diff £1000
You then have 460-500 BHP depending on how much boost you run and between 550-600 ftlb of torque. Will do 38-40mpg on a run and see off almost any other £20k car, and drag times from the USA (where there are loads of tuned 135/335i's) show that you need a tuned Nissan GTR, Porsche 911 turbo etc... To keep with them. stupid levels of reliability from the N54 engine and the brakes and chassis to Cope with the power.
Or a £20k E92 M3 and rob a post office for the Gpower supercharger kit :signLOL:

Pictures and videos needed of said 135

Now that Sir sounds immense. For the equivalent of Stage 2 mods for a VAG car (plus WMI) and you've got a bloody monster! :congrats:

Forgive my ignorance, but what does a methanol kit do?

BMW does sound like an attractive package, but I'm not sold on the styling. Too subtle for me. I'd have to have a white one with lots of the BMW Performance carbon to make it stand out from a 118d
-
Always liked the idea of an S3 but my GTI will keep me happy for a few years yet. :drinking:

Great video. What sort of price does this set us back on K04 GTI? Worthwhile gains?
-
^^^^ look into Devils Own Alcohol Injection Kits. £300 ish + fitting and setup (a fair sized job AFAIK).

^^^^Bruce from Devilsown is a very good friend of mine and a very helpful guy. Give him a bell and he'll talk you through the gains to be had from WMI.
He uses it on his own Time Attack Skyline to great effect. :happy2:

S3's are good tools but lack character and driver feedback is poor. They go well in standard trim but as a car for driver involvement choose the GTI everytime . If you are one of the Traffic light racers then S3 is for you due to 4wd (ish) as its not
-
Interesting mate, perhaps it's a case of the grass is always greener. I have k04 and will be looking at a map soon, so probably quicker than a standard S3 at that point  in a straight line at least.
