Title: Gave the old girl a much needed wash/polish
Post by: Kalpsn2000 on April 15, 2013, 02:42:36 pm
Took advantage of the good weather and gave her a wash and polish (by hand). Used AG SRP, PB Black Hole & Collinite 915. (You may have seen the pics in the 'what did you and your mk5 do thread', but thought I would post a thread here as it would give the new detailers some motivation, as I'm no expert)

That looks sweet.

I think I'm gonna invest in the tools you used!

Can u recommend any decent (cheap) applicators. And where I can also get these products for decent price. I seem to be getting collinite for around 25 and pb black hole for around £15.

Got the PB Black Hole from Amazon a few weeks ago for £12

Bought the Collinite about 2 years ago so can't remember how much I paid but £25 sounds about right.

Bought these applicators last month and they are supposed to be decent for the price (£2.86 for 6) although I haven't used them yet and also they are currently unavailable

Nice work Kalpesh!

I might give this a go by hand! Did you find it reduced swirls a bit doing it properly by hand?

I WANT THAT R32 REARRRRR!!

Yeah the swirls do get reduced. I think that's down to the filling properties of the AG SRP and PB BH. To permanently remove the swirls I reckon you would need a cutting compound and a decent da machine polisher.
