Title: From blue fin stage 1 to R Tech stage 1 WOW
Post by: islander on April 16, 2013, 09:23:35 am
hello,

Just though id share my experience of changing from blue fin stage 1 to r tech stage 1.
Firstly the guys at Rtech could not of been nicer or more helpful! I had a few little problems with my car which they found while checking over but they had the parts in stock to soon replace them so i was all good for the map!
I was worried there would be problems but nick and his assistant ( sorry can't remember the guys name haha) were there to calm my nerves and i knew my car was in safe hands.

Once the mapping was done i was shocked by the figures going from 237 standard map with just a catback exhaust to 305 bhp with 300 ft/lb of torque and a lovely curve to match.
Nick took me out in my own car and instantly i fell in love with it, the power was extremely manageable and i didn't just get one big shove back in the seat then the torque died away it just keeps pulling and pulling which even in the past with revo cars i've never experienced before. The map was far superior to the blue fin, it gave a miles stronger feel, an extremely smooth feel through out the rev range and also i got 6 mpg more on the way home sticking to about 80-85 most of the way.

In short if your looking for a mapper that will not only give you exactly what you want but will also give you tips and advice with your car as well as being at the end of the phone if you have any problems Rtech is defiantly the answer.
If you want to pay twice the amount, get a generic map and ring up the an office block at Revo or superchips and speak to someone who doesn't even know what engine you have simply your mad.

I will defiantly be going back to Rtech in the future for more mapping for my edition 30 and any other cars i purchase in the future.

:happy2: couldn't be more happy with the service, map and the whole day out, more than worth the 2 and a half hour drive either way.

I will post some videos on the dyno when i get a chance!

p.s hope the exhaust wasn't too loud for you nick

And. . .  another one

More and more people realising proper custom maps are the way to go rather than over-priced generic maps  :happy2:

Haha!! exactly my thoughts I felt last week with Niki and Ben..

Fantastic isn't it! I was shocked at the difference going from stage 2 bluefin to Stage 2 TIV.  :happy2:

Its good to see another person doing their research and not just because "its cheaper" doesn't mean it's crap..

I've never heard a bad thing about r tech, I have to do a few things to mine before it goes for another map but those are the guys I'll be going to.

Sounds awesome!  I've recently bought a MK5 GTI that's been remapped but don't know who by. I get a shove in the back when I plant my foot but then the power tails off quick.  Would love to get a custom R Tech map just a shame it's over 150 mile round trip!

How much is a stage 1 map from R-Tech? Is there a standard price or is it dependant on work done, time spent on it etc.....

Thats a 360 mile round trip for me, nearest 3 for me are JKM (revo), W8 Performance (shark) and T C Garage (Revo).  Have relatives in Birmingham might have to pop in and say helllo

Would be a great drive home though  :driver:

A lad my friend knows had his ED30 mapped at R-Tech on Friday. He is over the moon with it now
