Title: Recovery trucks?
Post by: Gazmufc87 on April 17, 2013, 06:24:51 pm
Hello there Just some thoughts on the following:

I've always had the thought of working for my self with a recovery truck.

Picking up and delivering cars etc.

Do you reckon there is good. Money in this or do you think that it's a over crowded market and with the costs of the truck insurance fuel etc.

Just that I hear different views good and bad does anyone have any experiences.

Cheers :-X

I run a recovery firm with my mate, we started out with 1 truck we now have 5. The trick is too get in with insurance company's and keep your costs low.

That's interesting.

If you don't mind how did you start to get business in the first place?

Pm me if you want or don't answer I understand :-X.

Do you think there's good money in it for just 1 truck etc.

Cheers for the reply

Yes there is good money for 1 truck we got more on board due to the demand from the insurance. Internet I.e. google is your friend for advertising. Private jobs wise. You do need to take into consideration thou
Fuel
Insurance etc.  :happy2: and keeping the truck in tip top condition  :happy2:

Ive always wanted to do this! Problem is start up costs (buying the truck and insurance etc) then getting the initial business.

Once you have a few big customers you will be fine!

None of my mates are interested and its a bit too daunting to do alone  :scared:

The police contracts are pretty decent with a pretty much guaranteed work from daily seizures, but guess you'd need to be set up fairly well and be able to respond very quickly to calls.
