So I originally thought I wanted to get an Edition 30, I'm starting to wonder if it is worth paying the extra premium?
It seems the Edition 30 is going to cost me 2-3k extra with similar miles to a standard GTi
I've not actually driven an Edition 30 yet so that might change my mind

answer is yes, if you plan to mod that 2/3K is well worth it when you walking away from RS4's
-
Yeah silly ??? :signLOL:
-
Every penny imo :happy2:
-
IMO depends if you want to mod. If staying standard then get the gti as its IMO much better as a town/quick 0-60 car with 3k in your pocket.
If you want more power than the standard car offers then get the edition 30 as a £300 remap on a edition 30 = about £3k worth of mods on a gti.

Love mine and i'm glad I went for it as a simple stage1 map will put a smile on your face!

Auto Express magazine recon if you buy one now and keep it for 10yrs it will be worth the same then :notworthy:
-
LOL... well ill probably still have mine in 10 years... given thats its 5 door aka "kid proof" :signLOL:
Id say they are worth the extra over the normal GTI.
-
When you compare a 2008 GTI and 2008 GTI Edition 30, with similar mileage and spec what's the price difference?
-
My one makes me feel all warm inside :happy2:

Beddie, you want a silver 5dr, may have to go after my news this week :happy2:
-
Depends on whether you're happy with the GTI and what you're after. It might be better to go for say a high spec GTI than a poverty spec ED30.
-
I nearly gave up looking for the right spec'd ED30, to go for a GTI with good spec in a certain colour.
Its all down to personal choice, make a list of must have's ie spec - 3/5 dr, dsg/manual, xenons, armrest, highline, then have a list of nice to have. Godd service history and condition is vital, i didnt want another silver car, but once i'd seen mine and spoken with the previous owner, it was very well looked after.

Yeah saw the bad news mate, gutted for you but I have my fingers crossed and I know something better will come of it for you in the end chap
-
Well I have no intention to mod it, I want a standard one and want to keep it that way
But going by the responses in this thread then I am starting to think I shouldn't compromise and go for the Edition 30
Also stuck on the DSG vs Manual, I've only driven a DSG for about 10 minutes, ideally I'd like to spend a good amount of time in one to see if the novelty wears off
