Av u tryed plugs ?
-
Yes mate had a major service coil pack, plugs replaced but still the problem remains.
-
It could be injectors.... do you have the facility to change them yourself?
-
Injector loom?
-
Yeah Id point to injectors.
Try swapping the suspect one with another fault free cylinder's injector and see if the fault migrates. If it doesnt, then maybe loom?
Injectors are quite dear (more than coilpacks!), I dont know how useful injector cleaner fuel additives are?

I'm having the same problem with mine judders at low speed and misfire on cylinder 2 I changed plugs and coils and still the same

Tried that on mine , and doesn't work..
Another failing injector by the sound of it. Very common by all accounts..Injectors each are about £110 +vat and budget a couple hours labour in a reputable garage.
I've tried various cleaning methods but not enough to cure it full stop , problem reoccurred .Its either that or gummed up intake valve not allowing enough air into the cylinder that's effected.

Thanks guys I don't have the facility to change them myself but booked into the garage in a couple of weeks have mentioned the report so will have to pay for another one from garage then they'll ring my extended warranty company.. As long as they believe the report points to injectors.

Hi there, I'm not sure if much of this will make any sense, but may be of some help...
I have just bought a mk5 GTi from an independent dealer, he said he had the car in as a part exchange and was now selling it (as they do).
He was upfront and honest with me, and told me that when he took the car in it was misfiring and and so he replaced plugs, leads, and coil pack but still didn't work. He then changed the fuel pump, and apparently it was this that was causing the problem. Might be worth looking at?
the car is under warranty and has the ultimate warranty cover with autoprotect so if I get any other problems, I will be on the phone to them!

My fuel trims are too high.. So my guess is with one injector not firing, the ecu is overcompensating .
JKM have called to say they agree, injector 4 looks as if its the fault.Car will be ready early next week.

My 06 GTI is also suffering from poor cold starts and I suspect it's the fuel pump that primes when you open the door. Can you confirm which fuel pump your garage changed? It be great if you could provide part numbers and prices.
Thanks
