The compressor will be gone, it's quite common on these iam afraid and not cheap to repair that's why some people don't bother replacing them mate

Bit of a sweeping statement that one !
Take that with a pinch of salt, could be many things e.g. low on gas, pressure sensor, temp sensor fault, fan fault, as well as the compressor.
As said above, first port of call would be diagnostics
