Really thinking of selling my mk5 gti for a MK6 GTD DSG.

Is yours DSG Marshall?

Cool. My work is moving soon so a fuel saving would be great!

I'm seriously thinking DSG. I've read a lot of people say it suits the shorter rev range which is good.

How does if compare performance wise to your R?

Take it to Darkside Developments, have them put a DPF delete and straight through system on there, give it a map, you'll be seeing a super reliable and super quick 210bhp.

Seems he's seeing a super reliable & quick 210bhp without the need to remove the DPF. As I understand it, DPF removal gives you 220+ bhp (and smokes like a GTI on WOT )

The turbo sort of maxes out around 225 and that's with quite a lot of duration. You get around 215 with a DPF delete but it's just the way it drives and the extra spool and lack of restriction.. The DPF makes a lot of difference, plus with the extra fuelling it can cause the DPF to become clogged more easily.

If you've ever seen a DPF pipe you'll see how restrictive it is, like someone's bent a hosepipe around with the section of pipe it has coming off of it.
