Title: Battery drain RCD510, and highline functions
Post by: big al on April 26, 2013, 09:40:53 pm
Hi guys.
Know the battery drain issue has been mentioned a few times but tried searching and couldn't find anything that quite matched.
Iv'e got a 2005 GTI, recently fitted an RCD510, but went to start it the other day and battery was dead. Charged it, and 2 days later, dead again.

Is this an easy fix? Or do I need to get newer firmware for the stereo?

Also whilst I have you here, I also have an MFD sat nav stereo, can you guys tell me if all info will be displayed on the highline for this or is any reprogramming needed?

Thanks all :happy2:

Regarding the Battery issue mate you need a New updated Can-Bus Gateway which is 7NO i think. Give Eddie-NL a shout i had the same issue and he sent me one and it has always been ok

You need a revision L or later CAN gateway, plus you will need it coding in with VAGCOM
