As in can't part with it! Came close to buying a 2008 Renaultsport Megane R26 230 as on paper it's as fast as Eddie....doesn't feel it though? Eddie definitely felt faster.
Coupled with the lesser quality feel and exisiting electrical issues it had it put me right off.
Awesome handling though, it corners at silly speeds.
Also tried a Focus ST but again the engine was pretty boring.
Is there any car as good for the same value? I don't think so! So am keeping Eddie. Happily

I'm in exactly the same position but a stage 1 map has changed my mind as nothing come's close in term's of fun and putting a big grin on your face everytime you put your foot down!Maybe a Golf R next year... :happy2:

Before i bought my ED30 i had the same question.
I looked at a VXR Astra but they have very weak gearbox's, so weak that they just about cope with the standard torque :scared:
The ST suffers from dodgy alternators, most seem to be replaced every 20k miles.
R26, just had a Clio 182 and while it handled unbelievably well it didn't feel like it was made to last more than 5 minutes. I assume the R26 would be the same.
CTR have dodgy steering racks.
C30 T5 seemed a little to slow for what it was, i do still very much like them though and especialy in white :happy2:
The only two that did come close were the LCR and BMW Series 1, although with the 1 Series it didn't seem to do it for me

Nothing beats it for all round bang for buck. Apart from the 5dr Golf R DSG, nothing else appeals with me either.

I agree once I had a stage 1 on my car I can't find anything which would come close to it. Plus it has the great build quality withall the toys :happy2:

I've not seen anything else for similar money (not that I've been looking) that fits the bill as well as the Eddy re. performance, quality etc.
As the other chaps say, its an Eddy or an R! :grouphug:
