Post by: Steviedubs on May 01, 2013, 09:34:48 pm
This edition 30 was for sale in the for sale section and sold with mileage of 119k and now has clearly had a trim as is now on 97k..... Busted!!

Who's to say this is just a genuine error? There's no picture of the odometer

Reg is blocked up too so no way of checking with vosa mot records unless you ask for the full reg...

Edit, unless you find it inthe for sale section?

Just to clarify Hogster has nothing to do with this as he sold it fair and square, probably the last MOT will be somewhere close to 97k, I'd put money on it!

The reg checks out as an edition 30 in black. Can't check any further without the v5 details.

The original seller should contact Trading Standards asap , these cases are always difficult to prove but with the Details of the advert on here and this ebay ad and to then check the car is showing 97k would make it nearly watertight . The Advantage of checkable mot history now , previously clocking was easy .
Hogster get in there quick  :happy2:

I messaged the seller to enquire about the slight mileage discrepancy; response was: fcuk yourself ar*hole. Nice!

Post by: nigw on May 02, 2013, 12:07:10 pm
...however, 10 mins later the text on the advert no longer refers to 97k, and the info at the top now states 119k!

Hi there, been keeping an eye on this listing and I notice orginally the car was listed as having 97,000 on the clock... I notice this has changed to 119,000 miles now, Could you clarify this please as I don't see how it could be a typo?

Many thanks

Just sent this on the bay for complete sh*ts & giggles....    :signLOL:

To confirm the reg is DE08 NUK.

Amazing what a google search of the reg can show up! This car is back for sale on ebay. Doesn't look like a Miltek exhaust to me either.

Sorry to bump an old thread but may help someone out

Dodgy f*ckers.

Also it's on 120,000 miles now so it's gonna be on at least 140,000 miles.

Heavy that.

That's what happens to hide any discrepancy as the finger cannot be pointed at just one person.

A similar thing happened to me. I part exed my polo with some service stamps and no paperwork (although all services completed) it was then posted on their website with full service history and all stamps in the book.

Dragging up an old post here, but was looking at my post history. DE08NUK was an ED30 that had been clocked back from 119k to 97k. A quick Google search suggests it's had no better luck since....clocked again (numerous times) and now at around 52k miles  :fighting:

April 2013: 119k
April 2014: 110k
May 2015: 70k
May 2016: 52k

It's called "MOT Check" on the UK Apple App Store. Quite useful for a quick lookup and to quickly check when you or your family have MOTs coming up :)

It's not perfect, but not a bad little app.
