while visiting my local vw dealer i noticed one on display--just wondering if any body has one fitted ansd how do they rate them
-
Fitted this a few weeks ago.
Positives:
Nice Garmin Nav
Good DAB reception with the screen mounted aerial where I've driven (around the London area)
Choice of different colour lights
Nice sensitive touch screen
Concealed micro SD card slot to keep the front looking clean
Bluetooth works great with my Galaxy S2
Main negative is the fact it doesn't fully integrate with the red MFD (Works fully with white MFD).
Overall a great unit :happy2:

Thank you for the info
I've got the alpine lne 900r in mine which is a good unit but i do like the look of the Kenwood

Go for the Alpine INE-W928R rather, better unit with 8" screen which fully integrates with the MFD, red or white. Roughly the same price, but if you buying from VW, then the alpine is much cheaper.Only thing is is doesn't have DAB, for that you need the W925R which is slightly cheaper, but with a smaller screen.

Great head unit mate - had mine since January and love it.
-
Had mine installed today, a few tweaks to go but great system. Not tried an rns so can't compare bu very happy with what I have
-
Now after owning the unit for longer I have found another quirk which can be annoying especially when using satnav...
So you put the key in and then setup the satnav...then when you start the car the unit restarts...then you have to wait for the satnav to find the signal again and press accept to the warning again.
Not a major issue but would be nice if there was a way to stop the unit completely restarting when you start the car!

I had the previous version (no DAB) and thought it was a very good unit. Improved sound quality noticeably too
