After having my eddy services this week, and being told the only thing that needs doing anytime soon is my rear brake pads as they are running low. Brilliant I thought!!
Well not only 3 days later, windows down enjoying the nice weather, I've noticed a horrible tinny metal rattle/knocking sound coming from the back end of my car. This noise only occurs on uneven/bumpy roads (majority I know) Has anyone got any ideas what I could look into? To me it does t sound like its specifically coming from one side of the car.
I'm one of those people that the slightest problem that occurs, drives me insane and my car needs to get in a garage ASAP before it falls apart. Pathetic I know. So any info n where to start looking would be great. :happy2:

Driving to work this morning on the quite roads I think I've narrowed it down as coming from the rear end, near side. Looked under the car and cant see anything blindingly obvious that looks loose etc.
-
my guess would be top mounts or anit roll bar droplinks
-
Cheers for the info.
Any idea what kind of cost I'd be looking at to get either of them fixed if it was to turn out it was one of those?
-
I had the same problem a few weeks back....I found out it was the backing plate off one of the brake discs. Just remove it altogether for now and fit a new one, as it'll be rusted to hell.
-
Sounds like it could be the anti roll bar bushes have gone
-
if its more or a tinny rattly noise then i doubt its suspension relates as thats usually mure of a thud/knocking noise because its all under weight. More than likely, exhaust heatshield, or brake shields, give everything a good rattle
-
Cheers for all your input guys!
It's definitely more like a metal tinny rattle as if something is loose than a thud sound! But it can only be heard when on uneven road surfaces etc. Theres no rattle when I rev the engine etc. Hopefully it's just something that's come loose and a simple fix. Finger crossed!!

I nearly wrote it might be the exhaust heat shield but I'd expect that noise to be there a
Fair bit when driving and especially when revving the engine

Any money it's the rear disc stone guard, as stated above take it off, replace it if your anal.
