I'm thinking of fitting 18" P-Zeros. Can anyone who has run these give me an objective opinion on their performance and longevity?
Thanks

Amazing tyre.
Expensive............but amazing tyre.
Awesome grip.............long lasting.............not so quite.........!!!

Rubbish in the wet made my car incredibly tail happy.
Would not run again.

On my second set now! Great tyres! Never had any problems in the wet!
Road noise is a bit louder than others but never bothers me!

According to my neighbour - Focus RS - reaaaaly good in the dry, not so good in the wet, noisyish, don't wear well. Not a bad tyre, but technology has moved on and there are better tyres out there.
A couple of thousand left on this set. Moving on to GY A2s.

On my second set now and can highly recommend. They do not wear all that well but that is what to expect with a high performance tyre. You cannot really go wrong when they are standard fit on Porsche and Ferrari in the main. Cannot really confirm what they are like in the wet as I drive well within my and the cars limits when it is wet. I have never had any acquaplaning issues at motorway speeds though so they meet my needs
Hope that helps

Never had any issues in the wet. Found myself driving through puddles on purpose because I couldn't believe the amount of water they can disperse.
Don't expect to get much more than 10k out of the fronts (spirited) & the rears sawtooth very easily (soft compound). Bought my GTI with 2 new tyres on the front and 7900 miles on the clock.
I used to wear the fronts out then move the back to the front then get the new ones on the back!
A little noisier than the Goodyear Eagle F1 AS2's that I have on at the moment. Fancied a change & to see if they sawtooth as easily.
Don't buy Rosso's - cheaper but they really are pants in the wet as they start to wear. xjay1337 did you have P-Zero or P-Zero Rosso???
A side point; P-Zero's are pants in the snow. I know, I know; not for snow use but with care the Goodyear's can get me off the drive without having to put snow socks on!!!

I've ran all 4 18's on P-zero Rossos and thought they were superb performance wise and I had a lot of confidence in them, also reduced the noise level significantly from the Bridgestone's I had on before.
The ones on the back didn't last very long though before the inner edge wore down and the fronts havent't been that good either, saying that though it wouldn't put me off buying them again.

I had Rossos - But find little consolation, tyre tech has moved on since the PZero.

This is one of the factors that pushed me towards the Goodyear's. As far as I am aware the P-Zero is still exactly the same as the ones that were put on the Pirelli Edition in 2008!
I think the big thing to take from this is that tyre choice has as much to do with the way you use them as the compound and tread pattern. Peoples experience will vary dramatically.
I just find that the part worn Rosso offered very little grip under heavy acceleration in damp conditions. The P-Zero offers a pretty constant level of grip under the same conditions throughout the life of the tyre. Brand new, both are pretty evenly matched and both seemed to wear at the same rate (approx 8000 miles on the front if you like to push them a bit).
As stated before the pressure of the forum (loads of great reviews) made me try the Goodyear's and I couldn't be happier. They are new so have no idea of part-worn performance but they are quieter and don't break traction as easily in dry conditions.
Ultimately buy the P-Zero's; they are awesome. You won't be disappointed. :happy2:

I think the latest p zero have been substantially updated. They have been around for a very long time so must be upgraded every few years.
I can get them for £120 each fitted, which seems like a good price.
