Well, when you make it to your 5th anni you can wake her up first thing in the morning with some wood!

For 1st anni it's traditionally a gift of something paper.

I genuinely used to forget the date of my wedding anniversary and being totally unromantic I never got her anything to mark the event. Perhaps that's why I'm now divorced. I still don't know the date! Just remember that it was April/May at Chelsea Registery Office in The King's Road.

I don't see what the big deal is about wedding anniversaries.

A quick google search will clarify which it is, i had also thought it was paper, but others have said its cotton in the UK.

If its paper - if she is into theatre etc.. then tickets to a show after a nice meal out. (paper tickets, get the idea)

Or if you have not had any of yor wedding photos printed, choice one and get it blown up and framed, would still cover the 'paper'.

My friend has just celebrated there first one and he used tickets as the 'paper' - tickets to a long weekend in Venice.  :happy2:

You could buy a roll of toilet paper. Probably best to have something else in case she doesn't see the funny side.

Wife and I spent a long weekend away in a Scandinavian lodge down in Devon for our first wedding anniversary. Was lovely, place had a hot tub outside on the balcony too.

Divorce papers?

I joke... Congrats on the 1 year! Tickets for a music festival? Try and find some Glastonbury ones?

Think I might take her away to stay in the same hotel and the same restaurant I took her to on the night I proposed..

Horatio got me these for our 1st anniversary and they are amazing. The attention to detail is incredible and it was completely unexpected and very different to the kind of things most websites offer for anniversary gifts.

Just a thought, but if your wife is expecting a baby in August she might not find it too comfortable to fly/travel any kind of distance (depending on when you book it for).. But congrats anyway  :happy2:

I did a similar thing, took her to the place we got married (reception) for our 1st Anni   :happy2:

I was thinking that but the hotel we had ours at is only 5 minutes from the house and may feel like a bit of a cop out, whereas we got engaged in Southport at the end of the pier and then stayed in the Vincent Hotel that night - it is only around 1 hour away so she should be ok.

Thank you all for the inspiration and congrats!! - looks like I have sparked something quite good for some other people too, ha!!
