Title: R32 style Exhaust?
Post by: b19_brv on May 10, 2013, 11:37:00 am
Hi guys,
My g/f got a GT Tdi.
For her birthday I manage to source a genuine r32 rear bumper.
What have you guys done in terms with the exhaust?
Genuine r32 back box or aftermarket?
From what I've read the Genuine r32 back box is NOT a straight fit therefore gone aftermarket.

If I go after market what exhaust should I go for? Considering its a diesel performance is not an issue.
Would appreciate links for exhaust's recommended places to go.

Thanks in advance and time

I'm in the process of trying to make something up for my gti ready for r32 rear.
I've now learnt the standard r32 back box will not fit in anyway as it doesn't clear the spare wheel well.
I'm just going to make a straight through suitcase delete pipe like this

if thats the case, i'm probably gonna pay places like powerflow, torque exhaust a visit..

r32 rear boxes would of been ideal they go from next to nothing.
will keep you updated what happens..hopefully next update with the exhaust on the car  :happy2:

@SCRUBADUB have you manage to sort out your exhaust? what route did you go down?

went to powerflow not so long ago and they quoted me £450-£500 to fit a customer exhaust for the r32 rear bumper..  :surprised:

have seen blueflame tailpipes going for £170 that might be an option i may take

anyone else done this mod like to share?

Tempting to get the tailpipes from ebay!

I take it if i remove the standard backbox and clamp those babies on then it would make the exhaust alot louder?

Thanks for the responses guys

Cheers scrubadub. Ill send him a wee message.

I've done a few r32 kits and the exhausts r always a headache. Few of these would b handy lol

Will have to measure up what I need. Do u remember the measurements u sent or even do u have the distant between the two centres of the 2 pipes on ur car?

Centre to centre is 203mm, I think over-all length was about 19" and it's all 63mm diameter tubing
