I've got a split in my back box, a friend has said he can weld it for me but I'm wondering if I would be better off getting a new back box

A very quick search on the net didn't turn up much for a standard back box, are they stupidly priced? I really don't want an aftermarket one

Standard used GTI full systems start at around £50 on eBay and cat backs can be had for around £40

Just keep your eyes peeled on eBay and in the classifieds on here. :happy2:

I was quoted  a silly price for a  genuine VW back box - about £270!!!
So I had a nice SS cat back system fitted for around £250, with a lifetime guarantee.
