Title: My Shadow Blue 140 TDi
Post by: S4nup on May 15, 2013, 05:18:43 pm
Hey guys, been on the forums for a little while, getting information as well as participating as much as I can, and so today I thought I'd get some bits done on the car and post an image.
After my E36 vert was written off, I bought the MK5 (needed something more economical than a 2.8 I6!) so after a quick search I picked up my shadow blue (pre facelift). I really didn't want to do anything at all to this car, but obviously the bug bit, and I've made some subtle mods.
I picked up a GTi front end, and sent it off for spraying, whilst that was being done, I wrapped the grille panel and badge in DiNoc carbon fibre wrap. Obviously I know I drive a tdi, and didn't want to have the car badged as a GTi, so I got a GT sport badge and went for something different with the lipstick.
I'm running some 19" LM reps, and have a set of lowering springs (KW) ready to go on. Other changes are a kenwood double din and minor interior mods (steering wheel GT trim, seat inserts etc)
Only have the one pic at the moment, but will get some more.
Hope you like...comments and suggestions are welcome!(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.tapatalk.com%2Fd%2F13%2F05%2F16%2Fvy3uja7u.jpg&hash=b324388ac9a13b140cd0faa130819c1fcb9d4ad6)

Thanks guys. Man the weathers been pretty dismal for photos, and the one day that is nice, the mrs has taken it to work.

Will try and do a wash, wax and polish and then take some photos.

So haven't actually done much on the car for a long time.
Had a couple of issues with it (Alternator clutch pully had seized back in august, and then last week the turbo died and went to turbo heaven) so money has been spent on fixing those rather than modding.

Anyway, picked up a set of black GTI headlamps (was after xenons, but i still can't justify the cost) and then decided to lamin-x them in light smoke.
anyway here's the before:

and the afters:

going to laminx the fogs as well this week.i've also di-Noc the interior trims, so will take some interior shots when i get a chance.

Got a GTI rear valance going on soon, just need it spraying, and am currently refurbing the alloys.

Cheers Matto. Think it goes well with the dark colour of the car.

Yeah definitely. Mine came with the dark headlights but swapped them for the Hella Xenon look ones.
