OK, here goes.....
I'm looking for a new exhaust for my Golf.
I had a MK4 GTI that I had a Milltek non-resonated cat back fitted to and it was awesome.
I've tried looking on the web, but I'd like to know if you guys know of anywhere where I can go to to have one fitted and possible even find out what it may sound like before being fitted.
I'm near Ripley in Derbyshire.
I don't mind travelling a few miles, and I think now is the time to step things up, especially after the re-tune.
Any ideas/tips??
Thanks in advance

They're in Liverpool though aren't they??
That's a tad too far for me!
Anyone else have any ideas/info?

Sorry thought you said you was willing to travel. Have a look at JBS Auto Designs (http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/) then.

Infinity exhausts in Bristol seem to be very good they have done a few systems for friends cars

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies.
Fish, sorry if i caused offence by saying that was too far :ashamed: thanks again the JBS link. I've sent them an email, so I'm waiting for them to get back to me.
Thanks again all

Mate, no offence and hope I didn't offend. Just seemed a little funny when you said willing to travel a bit then not willing. Hope you get something sorted. :happy2:

Hello
I've just fitted a Milltek non res CAT back system myself. :jumpmove:
It took me about an hour to fit, using ramps on the drive. If you're not able to fit yourself, you can always ask your local garage to fit it for you. This then opens up your choice of products available to you as your not limited geographically. Motorsport world offer a great range of products at good prices, tough you are right hearing a set up before you buy one!
With regards to my Milltek, I wanted long life (304 stainless) as my stock item was shot. I've got long life, but its just as loud/ noisy as the OEM. It may be a little more deeper pitched at tick over. Noticeably the larger diameter pipe work has resulted in a little less torque At the bottom end. If you want loudness then look elsewhere! :happy2:
Cheers

if you want long term aswell look elsewhere
I had Milltek on my PD170, Downpipe had to be welded twice in 2 years, Cat-Back looked shot after 1 year it had lots of surface rust and looked pants
Scorpion and BCS seem to last alot longer, My Scorpion looked brand new after being on the car a year (Over winter aswell)

personally, i would swerve milltek for the reasons mentioned in the above post, but a lot of people on here swear by them.
worth travelling to the north west to BCS or Pipewerx. In fact, Awesome sell the Pipewerx downpipe and would post it out so you could put that on first and see how you rate it along with your oem catback and then get the full system later on as most of the gains are from the downpipe anyway and you can go stage 2+ with only the downpipe but your car would be holding back a bit

milltek had a few problems a few years back but think they have it sorted now.I have one on my gttdi for 3years with no problems

I went to the Nurburgring in an R32 with a non res Milltek. Constant drone on the motorway and only sounded "nice" through a small amount of the rev range
Put me off wanting one, especially as there are are some fantastic alternatives at a great price :happy2:
