So I've been thinking, I bought my 05 Golf GTi on 102k miles. It's now on 106k. Is this high mileage for them? I see loads of people selling them with ~50k. Did I get ripped off at £6k? I mean it runs beautifully (a mechanic even said it was the best one he had driven) and the interior is near perfect...
I'm not overly concerned about it, more curious.

It's high mileage to most people. However some people know that modern engines generally will do much much more. It's all the other bits that fail that is the problem for most people.

I think that's about right depending on options? I paid 6k for my '06 GTI which had 120k on in 2011.. Sold it at 126k for £5400 last November. And like yours it ran very sweetly. Test drove a few between 70k-100k and they were no better (Some worse) Sounds like you were lucky and this one has been looked after.

That's cool. Thanks guys. I did have to replace the usual stuff as it ran badly before that, but once done it's great!

Mines on 94K and runs great. IMO Milage is just a number if the cars been maintained well
