i know theres loads of guides on this but non seem to answer my question guys!
white worm has ruined my badge :(!
i have an 04 tdi .. and the rear boot handle looks asif the badge can be seperatd from the actually handle without having to remove the boot trim etc.
It looks asif i could just place a thin object (i.e knife, credit card etc) and just prise away the badge....
anyone know if this can be done ?

this is what you need to do. Go with a stanley blade at it, then a small flat head to prise it.

is there no clips holding it on ?
and will it then just stick straight back on?

I think there is a few behind it.
Yeah mine popped straight back in without any glue needed.
Just do it dont be scared lol.

out of interest --- when your took your off, did you spray it or just replace it ?

Sprayed mine, althought would of been better to get 1 you can buy (black/matt black)

There are no clips behind it, just two on the side edges the go underneath a little. Bear in mine that the base isn't very thick so will bend a bit when you pull it off. Personally I would do it off the car as you will get better angles at it. To be honest I woul just replace it with a 3D version - far nicer.
This is a pic of a unit with the badge peeled off. Normally you get much more sticky residue on the base to clean off. I have overhauled a good number of these (2 in the garage to add 3D badges to at the moment) and some come apart easier than others :happy2:

And a few ideas of what you could do with just vinyl, from sanding down the whiteworm, wrapping the badge and sticking back on, to wrapping the base and sticking a 3D badge on, or wrapping the badge and then sticking a 3D bade on top of that
