Got one of these as a courtesy car from VWRacing at the moment.
What a lovely drive :congrats:
I really thought it would be underpowered and screaming for help every time you drove it, but no.
It's beautifully quiet, effortless and certainly not lacking in power.
I've driven from Milton Keynes to Thatcham, round town, and to Reading and back last night.
To be honest.... I enjoy driving it more than I did the "Red Temptress" :ashamed:
The suspension in the RT is hideous... like being on a bouncy castle. Not sure what it is that makes it so bad, I don't think it's too hard, I think it's the rebound or something, it's like the car hits a frequency of bounces and then bounces around all over the place. Spoke to Matt after I drove it and he felt the same, but says lots of customers like it. So... as ever... each to their own
Fun for a short time, but spend any time on the roads and you'd quickly feel sick.
The brakes are fantastic, the LSD can really be felt and is fantastic for putting the power down when exiting roundabouts.
I know what people are thinking whilst reading this, but please keep it on topic. I'll post another thread with my VWR story once I pick my car up ;)

Tempted to swap then? :popcornsoda:

Errrr no :P
Does make you realise how much of a mk5.5 it is though, with subtle changes.
Certainly not willing to try a mk6 GTI as they stand, I really can't see why the extra spend is worth it (10k almost) to get one to the same spec as my Ed30.

And of course it would still ultimately be slower :happy2:

Are you talking about this VWR loan car, Coco? : -

If so, I did about 350 miles in it and was surprised to learn that it was only 1.4. However, I felt it was a very good 'ordinary' car but very very dull. Mpg wasn't special either but that's probably because you have use the revs to get enough power.
I love the real Red Temptress but I haven't driven her recently. I don't find that my VWR suspension bounces etc.

Have they fixed that bad paint match on the red thunder whatdayacallit thingys bonnet. have to say it made the car look gash.

....Quite honestly whenever I've driven the 'Red Temptress' I haven't cared two figs what the state of the paint etc etc is - I've simply been enjoying her too much to notice!

That's because the carbon bonnet is vinyl wrapped so the colour doesn't quiet match
